Keep a look out for these 4 New Home Green Flags
We hear a lot about red flags to look out for when you’re on a house hunt, but what about all the positive signs that a property might be a good fit?
Whilst everyone has different priorities when it comes to their dream home, being aware of some common green flags can help you find somewhere that ticks all your boxes and sets you up for success.
1: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION:
No matter how luxurious the space, if it’s in an undesirable or dangerous neighborhood or is a long way from transport links, good schools or basic amenities, it’s unlikely to be a good investment.
However, buying in an up-and-coming neighborhood can be a great way to bag a serious bargain.
Green flags to look out for are areas which have committed plans for development such as new housing or schools, building or redevelopment of amenities and community spaces, or extensions to transport links.

2: ADDITIONAL BATHROOMS
When we are trying to get everyone ready and on their way to work/school of a morning, an extra bathroom or two can really make or break your day (and your relationships!).

3: USEABLE ATTIC SPACE
Whether it’s a playroom for the kids or a comfortable office space to work from home, making use of your attic space is a great way to maximize the value of your home. But getting planning permission and having an attic converted can be costly and time-consuming so a home with an already useable space is a serious green flag

4. SOLAR PANELS
Energy doesn’t come cheap these days so a home with solar panels installed will save you money on bills AND mean you can feel smug about doing your bit for the environment… flags don’t come much greener (pun intended) than that.
